I wanted to share some progress updates with you. As of right now, I’ve been working full time on Impulse, gearing up for some special events in September with the launch of our Kickstarter, a demo and full trailer!
Right now I’m programming in the mechanics of the game, preparing for Voice Acting by finalizing casting and finishing off the Chapter One script.
As far as the mechanics for the game go, people who have played Danganronpa and the Phoenix Wright series, as well as other point and clicks will be familiar.
The game has three main gameplay sections – Motive Debate, Investigation and Confrontation.
Motive Debate is where you and your band discuss a potential subject and their motives. You’ll need to agree with the right statements in order to proceed.
Investigation follows the format of point and click games. Simply click (or tap the WiiU Gamepad) anywhere on screen to investigate an item or area further. You’ll need the evidence for the Confrontation later. Unlike some other games, you’ll be informed when you have enough evidence for later.
Confrontation is our new mechanic, which may not be available in time for the demo. Think of it like a fast-paced showdown where you need to confront the person you and the band think are the killer with the right pieces of evidence to be sure they don’t escape. The clock WILL be ticking, so you’ll have to think on your feet!
So lots to do! The soundtrack is still under way of course. I’ve definitely got a busy couple of months ahead of me. Watch this space! In the meantime, here’s Chris on a train.
